Experience the charm of Higashi-Osaka through handmade crafts!
This set allows you to make the face and ball of Higashiosaka City's mascot character, "Try-kun."
A wool felt needle and mat are also included.
How to make Try-kun
1. Hammering in nails
Place the pattern sheet on the board and use the needle part of the nail guide to drill pilot holes.
Once you have finished drilling the pilot holes, peel off the pattern sheet.
Hammer the nail into the pilot hole.
The nail guide will help you keep your nails at a consistent height.
Additionally, since you can hammer in the nails without having to hold them directly, there is less worry about hitting them with a hammer, so even first-time nailers can enjoy hammering in the nails with peace of mind.
②Thread the thread
Thread the nail with thread to outline the shape and draw Try's face.
The image above uses a threading pen (sold separately).
3. Stuff with wool felt
Roughly cut the wool felt to fit the area you want to stuff, then poke it with a needle made specifically for wool felt to harden and shape it.
Once the shape is complete, fill the inside area surrounded by nails and thread with wool felt.

Once you've stuffed the wool felt into the doll, glue the eyes and cheeks to finish it off.
How to make a ball
1. Poke the wool felt to harden it

Fold a piece of wool felt into a ball and stab it to harden it.
If it's difficult to gather, use your hands to roll it into a ball and shape it while stabbing it until it becomes firm.
② Attach the thread

What is Try-kun?

The city was born when Higashiosaka City declared itself a "city of rugby." The "city of rugby" aims to incorporate the image of rugby, such as "strength and toughness," "solidarity and unity," and "friendship and freshness," in all areas of the city's urban development policies.
This mascot character represents the goal of citizens, businesses, and the government coming together to create a community full of individuality and charm, one that citizens can love and take pride in.
