String Art Contest 2025 Application Terms and Conditions
Please check the contest details before applying.
Those who apply will be deemed to have understood each of the posted matters and to have "agreed" to these terms and conditions.
Application requirements
- Only available to those residing in Japan.
- Each person may submit any number of works.
- Multiple submissions using the same photo are not permitted.
- There are no age restrictions for applicants to the Adult Division, but the Children's Division is open to applicants 15 years of age or younger (birthdays on or after April 2, 2010).
- If you are under the age of 18, please have a guardian apply on your behalf. We will only ask applicants who pass the first screening to confirm their name and the name of their guardian.
- Only works created during the contest application period are eligible.
- Works that have been selected or won awards in other public exhibitions, or works that have been shown in exhibitions organized by art museums or other institutions, are not eligible to submit.
- For those applying via Instagram, please check your settings to make sure you can receive DMs. If your Instagram account is set to private or if you have deleted your application post, your application will be invalid.
- If the prize cannot be delivered due to an unknown email address, inability to contact, or incomplete information, or if the prize is not claimed within one month due to other circumstances, the prize may be forfeited.
About the screening
- In the first round of judging (judging based on photos of the work), works that are extremely small in size or unclear will not be judged. If you are taking and editing photos using a smartphone camera app, please be careful not to make the size too small.
- If the work is damaged when it arrives for the second round of judging (the judges' review of the works), we will try to restore it, but please note that it may not be possible to repair it.
- Please note that the submission method will be cash on delivery at the applicant's expense. Also, please accept that the submission will not be damaged when it is returned.
About the Contest
- This contest is sponsored by Wakai Holdings Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "our company").
- This Contest is not affiliated with Instagram.
- This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by Instagram.
- This contest may be canceled, interrupted or terminated without prior notice due to system maintenance, malfunctions, etc.
Prohibitions
Any application that falls under any of the following items may be invalidated. If such a fact is discovered after the award has been received, the right to receive the award may be invalidated. In addition, if a third party files a lawsuit regarding the submitted work for infringement of rights or any other dispute arises, the applicant must deal with such claims at his/her own expense and responsibility, and agree to indemnify the Company for any losses, damages, and expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees, excluding all those attributable to the Company, and to hold the Company harmless from such losses, damages, and expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees.
- It violates Instagram's Terms of Use.
- Proxy applications. (Proxy applications by relatives are also prohibited. However, if you are under the age of 18, a guardian must apply on your behalf.)
- Any action that disrupts the operation of this contest.
- Any content that violates public order and morals, or that includes political activities, religious activities, or election activities.
- This includes buying and selling and similar activities, as well as posting and advertising on specific sites.
- Anything that defames individuals, companies, organizations, etc. or violates their privacy.
- Anything that violates a third party's copyright, portrait rights, or any other law.
- Any content that interferes with the operation of our business or damages our credibility.
- Anything that may infringe on the rights of specific characters or celebrities.
- Advertising and solicitation.
- The winning entry is identical or similar to a previously published design, or infringes the intellectual property rights of a third party.
- Any other conduct that the Company deems inappropriate.
Intellectual Property Rights
- The copyright of the submitted work belongs to the creator, but our company, supporting companies, and third parties approved by our company may use the work free of charge and without requiring the applicant's permission in publications, websites, e-commerce sites, advertisements, promotions, etc., and the applicant shall not exercise any moral rights in relation to such use.
- All rights to the patents, utility models, designs, trademarks, and copyrights (including the rights set forth in Articles 27 and 28 of the Copyright Act) of the winning works (Grand Prize, Runner-up Prize, Special Jury Prize, and Nail It Prize) in Japan and all countries around the world shall belong to our company. In addition, applicants shall not exercise any moral rights of authors in relation to the winning works. The consideration for the transfer of the above rights shall be paid in the form of prizes as stipulated by our company.
- If the submitted work is awarded, we will confirm the intention to accept the award through the transfer agreement presented by our company. If the said transfer agreement is not agreed to, it will be considered as a decline of the award, and we will not compensate the winner for any disadvantages related to the submitted work that may occur thereafter.
Handling of personal information
- The information provided in your application or through the registration form may be used for our marketing activities in a non-personally identifiable form.
- Any information necessary to send the prize that we receive from the winners will be destroyed after a certain period of time has passed once we have confirmed that the prize has been sent.
- The personal information collected in this matter will be managed and used in accordance with our privacy policy.

Announcement of the results
- We plan to contact those who pass the first round of screening around mid-February 2026.
- Applicants who submit via Instagram will be contacted via DM from the official Nail It Instagram account. Please make sure your Instagram settings are set up to receive DMs.
- We will contact applicants who submit their applications via the Google form via the email address they provided. If you have spam settings, please make sure to set your email settings to allow you to receive emails from the "@wakaisangyo.co.jp" domain.
- The results will be announced in late March 2026.
Prizes
- The right to receive the award is valid only for the award recipient and cannot be transferred to a third party.
- Prizes will be sent within one month after the award notification.
- Prizes will only be sent within Japan.
- Prizes will be sent via email, direct mail or courier.
- When we notify you of your award, we will include a URL for a form where you can enter your prize shipping address, so please enter your shipping information.
- If the prize is returned to us by the delivery company for reasons attributable to the winner, we will not be able to resend the prize.
Other notes
- The Company shall not be liable for any damages incurred by applicants in connection with this contest, except for those attributable to the Company.
- Applicants will be responsible for all expenses related to their application, such as communication fees and connection costs.
- Applications that cannot be confirmed due to reasons beyond our control, such as model, OS, browser specifications or system failures, will be invalidated.

- Please note that we cannot answer inquiries regarding the application status or judging results of this contest.
- In order to ensure the smooth running of this contest, a contest system has been introduced and is being operated. If a system malfunction occurs, applications may not be processed properly. In the unlikely event that a malfunction occurs, applications submitted during the malfunction will be invalidated as we will not be able to check them.
- The interpretation and application of these application terms and conditions shall be governed by Japanese law.
- Entrants must not delete the Instagram account used to enter the contest or the email address entered when entering the contest until the results have been announced.
- We will never ask for your credit card information, so please be careful of contact from fraudulent accounts.
- When applying, applicants are required to take measures to protect their rights, etc., if necessary.
- If it becomes necessary to make arrangements regarding matters other than those stated in the recruitment guidelines, the Company will make such decisions at its discretion. If applicants do not agree to the contents, they may withdraw their application, but the Company will not bear any costs incurred in the application.
- This is a contest with the premise of commercialization. The winner of the Nail it!! Prize in the Children's Division will be commercialized as a Nail it!! kit.
- If you are under the age of 18, you will need parental consent if you win a prize.

- This coupon can only be used once.
- There is no minimum purchase requirement for the 1,000 to 5,000 yen coupons for each prize.
- If the total amount of your purchase is less than the value of the coupon, no change will be given.
- The participation prize, a 500 yen coupon to be used at WAKAI Online Store DIY & LIFE GOODS, can be used on purchases of 3,000 yen or more (tax included).
- Coupons have a deadline, so please use them before the deadline shown.
- Cannot be used in conjunction with other coupons.
