Q

How do I decide what size to cut the board to?

A

Cut the block to a size that is the intended finished width and height minus the thickness of the L-type Hug Block and T-type Hug Block, as shown in the diagram below.
The intended finished depth is not affected by the thickness of the hug block.
*Please refer to the board size calculation formula for details.

Q

Can I paint the Hug Block?

A

Coloring is possible.
The Hug Block body is made of ABS resin, so please use compatible paint.

Q

Will there be any marks left on the boards after assembling with Hug Blocks?

A

It just clamps in place and leaves no marks.
However, if you tighten the bolts too much, they may leave marks. Do not overtighten the bolts.

Q

Can it be installed for a long period of time?

A

Yes, it is possible.
Check the bolts regularly to see if they are loose, and if so, retighten them for safety.

Q

Do you need power tools?

A

No power tools are required.
Assembly requires only a 5mm hex wrench. Using a T-handle hex wrench for the Hug Block (sold separately) makes it easier to apply force and tighten the parts.

Q

Can it be screwed down?

A

You can also use screws to prevent wobbling.
Use tapping screws that are shorter than the plate thickness.
(Screws are not included with the Hug Block)

Q

How much weight can the Hug Block withstand?

A

The resistance to deformation varies depending on the thickness, material, and condition of the boards being assembled.
After installation, check that there is no wobbling, and use it within the range where there is no risk of it falling over or the mounting plate bending.

Q

Can I sit or put weight on an assembly secured with Hug Blocks?

A

It is dangerous so please do not do this.
Any actions or uses that place weight on the Hug Block or its assemblies may cause them to tip over or collapse.

Q

Can it be installed on wooden floors or tatami mats?

A

Installation is possible.
(If the floor is wooden or tatami matted during assembly, lay a carpet or similar covering to prevent scratches or dents. When moving the product after assembly, do not drag or drop it. This may result in injury, breakage, or scratches to the floor.)

Q

Can it be installed on a slope?

A

Cannot be installed.
Please install on a flat surface.

Q

Can it be installed in a location subject to vibration or shock?

A

Cannot be installed.
Similarly, do not install any objects that may be subject to vibration or shock.

Q

Can it be installed in locations with a lot of moisture, near fire, or in direct sunlight for long periods of time?

A

Cannot be installed.
Do not install in locations that may accelerate deterioration of the Hug Block body (ABS resin) or wood.
