Among the products we handle, the Tri-Joint Bracket is a DIY part that caught my eye! It is a part that makes it easy to make a workbench. The appeal of the Tri-Joint Bracket is that you can make a variety of things depending on your ideas, such as a hanger rack, umbrella stand, clothes drying stand, cycle stand, signboard, etc.

First, think about what you want to make... and use the internet and social media to help you develop an idea.
My bike is a road bike that doesn't have a stand, so this time I tried to make a DIY bike stand that would keep it stable.
We made this using our newly released " Tri-Joint Bracket Wood Set, Leg Wood up to 1,200mm "!
[Materials to prepare]
・4 pieces of wood for the legs (2x4 lumber, 1,200mm) ・1 piece of wood for the top (2x4 lumber, 1,000mm) ・1 set of Tri-Joint bracket bodies (2 pieces) Olive ・1 bag of olive dedicated screws (4.0x20mm) (The above 4 items can be ordered as 1 set)
・Spray painting

★The Tri-Joint Bracket uses standard 2x4 lumber. The cross-sectional size is 38mm x 89mm. It is easy to obtain as it is widely sold at home improvement centers nationwide.
The wood used this time is 2x4 lumber made of pine laminated wood. Compared to the 2x4 lumber commonly sold in stores, this wood has no large knots, bends, or warping, and is easy to screw together. The wood sets sold in our store use this pine laminated wood.
[Tools to prepare]
- Driver (impact driver is better)
When using an impact driver, use a Phillips bit No. 2.

The wood and metal fittings arrive as a set , so you only need these tools.
There's no need for tedious wood selection or cutting, so you can start work smoothly!
[It's finally time to make it!]
①Engraving the words “BICYCLE STAND” on the upper wooden piece.
This time I wanted to add some originality so I put in a little extra effort!
Attach the stencil sheet with masking tape and paint.
★By the way, I made the stencil sheet by hand because I wanted a size that would fit the 2x4 lumber.
Print out the letters you like, apply glue stick to them, place them in a clear file, and let the glue dry. Cut out the letters with a cutter.
If you search the web for "stencil wood," you'll find a variety of methods, so try making your own according to your preference.

② Firmly insert the Tri-Joint Bracket into the wooden leg.
★When you insert the wooden leg piece (2x4 lumber) into the back of the metal fittings, it will hit the position fixing part of the metal fittings, so it is easy to see how far to insert it.

③Screw the tri-joint bracket to the wooden leg.
★Depending on where you screw in, the 2x4 lumber may crack, so we recommend drilling pilot holes in advance.
To do this, fit the main body onto the wood and mark the screw positions, then remove the main body and drill pilot holes where the marks were. Then, put the main body back on and screw it down.
This time, the wood was solid, so I screwed it directly in without drilling pilot holes.

④ Screw the upper wood in place.

⑤Completed! ! !

It took about 40 minutes to make (excluding the stencil step)! If you're used to DIY, you might be able to finish it faster.
This was my first time making a bike stand and using a tri-joint bracket, so I was a little nervous at first, but by using the wood set, I was surprised at how easy and quick it was to make!
